La Via Campesina in its 8th International Conference in Bogotá, , has introduced a new “Men Against Patriarchy” space to foster collective contemplation among men within the movement to promote inclusivity, equal participation, and safety for all in the movement with a focus on women and diversities.
About 150 youth delegates from several regions of La Via Campesina convened in Bogotá, Colombia, on December 1, for their 5th Assembly, marking a significant milestone in a process that began in 2004, in São Paulo, Brazil. They engaged in thoughtful reflection, articulated positions, and proposed solutions to overcome challenges.
From December 1 to 8, La Via Campesina is holding its 8th Conference in a scenario of multiple crises confronting the world today; La Via Campesina is also commemorating 30 years of organization, and its proposals for Food Sovereignty and Peasant Agroecology are more valid than ever in a world plagued by hunger, conflicts and environmental crisis.
