As a peasant-farmers’ union, we oppose mega-reservoirs that divert water for the benefit of a few, perpetuating an unfair distribution of water within the agricultural sector.
On October 3rd, 2022, the Kenyan Government lifted the ban on importation and cultivation of genetically modified organisms (GMO) that had been in place for ten years. The Kenyan Peasants League (KPL) reacted immediately and filled a lawsuit against that decision.

A delegation of La Via Campesina will take part in the Vth Maghreb Social Forum on Migration, to be held from June 23 to 25 in Nador, Morocco. The forum is a collective space with social organizations with which our movement will build common steps around the Migration Solidarity Pact.
