Training module N°4: History of the Domestication and Diversification of Seeds
Our latest training module, “History of the Domestication and Diversification of Seeds”, is now available for download!
It is the fourth in a five-part series of pedagogical documents that seek to deepen the study of the global struggle for peasant seeds, their situation and context and their connection with other struggles for Food Sovereignty.
As a movement, La Via Campesina has undertaken a training process based on popular education, betting on the knowledge that comes from the people of the countryside and goes to them. This series is LVC’s contribution to our activists, organizations and the global movement for Food Sovereignty training processes.
In this edition, you will learn about the history of agriculture from a peasant point of view, and it offers perspectives that are rarely found in the dominant academic and Western-centered reading. The book is rooted in an enormous bastion of knowledge still preserved by rural peoples and is the basis of the food systems that sustain the world today.
In the framework of the 30th anniversary of La Via Campesina and the month of the International Action for Peoples’ Food Sovereignty against Transnational Corporations, we invite you to read and share the document in your community. Also, check out the other modules in this series.
