VII CLOC Congress – Via Campesina

The VII Continental Congress of CLOC – LVC will be held from 25 to 30 June 2019 in Havana, Cuba. This big peasant meeting will take place within the framework of 60 years of the signing of the first Agrarian Reform Law signed by Fidel Castro Ruz, which has allowed, in the midst of a brutal economic blockade, the people transit to a Food Sovereignty based on Agroecology.
About 450 delegates, leaders of 85 peasant organizations, native peoples, artisanal fishermen and agricultural workers from 21 countries of the regions of South America, Central America and the Caribbean will attend and participate. They will bring their experiences of struggle, of organization, of production, of construction of political thought, which will converge in the advance of the political and organizational unity of the CLOC – LVC.
The V Youth Assembly with a theme: “Youth from the countryside and the city: Build Popular Power”, will be held on June 25; followed on June 26 by the VI Women’s Assembly with a theme “With Feminism, We Build Socialism”. On June 27, there will be a moment of exchange in productive experiences of cooperatives of the Association of Small Farmers of Cuba – ANAP.
Finally, from 28 to 30 June, the VII Congress of the CLOC – LVC will take place with the slogan: “From the territory: unity, struggle and resistance, For Socialism and the sovereignty of peoples”.
