Via Campesina – South America issues statement of solidarity with Ecuadorian people

11 October 2019: From the Latin American Coordination of Rural Organizations CLOC-Via Campesina – South America, we express all our solidarity with the Ecuadorian people who since last October 3 are on a national strike against the neo-liberal measures that the Ecuadorian Government of Lenin Moreno seeks to implement in Ecuador together with the International Monetary Fund.

From all and all of us who are part of the CLOC-Via Campesina, we reject the Human Rights violations to which protesters have been subjected in different territories in Ecuador and particularly to those who are concentrated in the City of Quito.
