On 20/03/2025, in Nairobi | La Via Campesina expresses its solidarity and condolences to Via Campagnola and the Condéfération Paysanne for the murder of the Corsican peasant activist Pierre Alessandri.
Farmers’ organisations around the world join in the grief of Pierre’s family and friends. We denounce this horrific murder. All over the world, tens of thousands of peasants and agricultural workers are murdered every year defending their land and territory and denouncing the abuses of agribusiness companies against the rights of peasants.
This must stop!
Those who produce food and care for the land must be protected, not harassed, repressed and murdered.
At this painful moment, we stand shoulder to shoulder with Via Campagnola and the Confédération Paysanne.
