La Via Campesina Stands with Morocco in the Wake of Catastrophic Earthquake

The numbers speak of the tragedy – over 2497 of our comrades have passed on, and 3,000 more are injured, many critically. It deeply saddens us that the majority of those affected are the marginalized peasant workers, the backbone of our food systems, historically overlooked and left behind in the march towards urban-focused development. La Via Campesina extends its heartfelt solidarity to our brothers and sisters in Morocco during these testing times.

La Via Campesina affirms its support for the peasants of Niger and its rejection of sanctions and military intervention by ECOWAS

Following the coup d’état that took place on 26 July 2023, very harsh sanctions were decreed against Niger, such as the blocking of the banking system and the trade embargo on the country. In addition to these unjust and inhumane sanctions, the Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has announced a military intervention in Niger, supported by the United States and France.

France: The Confédération Paysanne expresses solidarity with peasants in Niger

The Confédération Paysanne denounces the risk of military intervention in Niger and supports the populations and farmers of the Sahel. The peasant, pastoral, and fishing communities that represent the vast majority of Niger’s population would be the first victims of the war. Peasants of the Confédération Paysanne denounce the economic sanctions and freezing of assets at the Central Bank of West African States.

TAKE CUBA OFF THE STATE SPONSORS OF TERRORISM LIST AND END THE BLOCKADE OF CUBA!

Sign this petition calling to let Cuba live. We will deliver signed petitions to the White House on December 8, 2023.

“A Haitian Solution for the Haitian Crisis,” free from the intrusion of corrupt and imperialist powers responsible for the social, political, and economic violence. We vehemently reject the threats of military interventions from the “core group”. Previous invasions further deteriorated the living conditions of the Haitian people. We commit to continuing our support for the Haitian people in their just demands.

Solidarity in Action: MPP Congress in Haiti Inspires a United Peasantry

An international delegation from La Via Campesina has arrived at the congress to express the solidarity of La Via Campesina as a whole. This journey is part of the movement’s efforts to support the Haitian peasantry and people in their fight against social, political, and economic violence, as well as the recent threats of foreign military intervention. This situation has persisted over time and worsened since 2011.
