UAWC honors a group of farmers on the occasion of the international Farmers Day

(Ramallah-July 2016) The Union of Agricultural Work Committees with its agricultural committees honored 16 farmers from the governorates of Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus and Tubas, Qalqiliya, Tulkarem, Jericho and the Jordan Valley, and Jenin, on the occasion of the International Farmer Day, to express their appreciation of their efforts and their steadfastness on their lands in the face of the Israeli constant violations.

The UAWC’s chief of board of directors, Ali Hassouna, stressed that honored farmers formed steadfast models since they are living in most conflict-affected areas, in addition to their permanent volunteering activities as members of the agricultural committees.

The UAWC emphasize it will remain faithful to its mission (protecting our land and standing in solidarity with our farmers). Also, it confirms that the Palestinian land and its protection will remain its main work focus, and we will always make every effort to support the Palestinian farmer in the face of the Israeli occupation, as we raise our voices with all the whole Liberal peasants in the Middle East and North Africa and the world who are struggling for their rights for a real social justice.
